Saturday, October 12th from 10am-1pm
Writing about our experiences with disease and mental illness in our own lives and the lives of those we love can bring us peace and help connect us to others struggling with similar issues. In this three-hour workshop, we’ll read examples of writers who face illness, mortality, depression, and more head on. We’ll also practice writing and sharing our own stories. This class is open to all experience levels and will involve a combination of close-readings of book excerpts and essays, discussion, and three guided writing exercises.
Students who have taken this topic before are encouraged to attend again. The workshop will include a mix of old and new reading material.
