Yellow Dress

I am thinking about the woman in the yellow dress. She is pasted on a poster board propped up against a wall. When I am watching television, I find myself glancing upwards and it always lands on her. Not on the beaches next to her or Maya Angelou's powerful words carefully cut and pasted below her or the line of runner's legs in different hues of brown carefully cut and pasted above her, a not so subtle reminder that I have a race coming up in April. My eyes are always drawn to her, the vibrant yellow, the fact that she is in midair, slightly peering downwards, ready to jump.

Into what?

I don't know and maybe even she doesn't. The only thing that is clear is the willingness,
the lack of fear or uncertainty.
