Shinrin Yoku (for Jen)

I took a bath in the forest
this morning, surrendered.
Brushed my teeth with the ions
that rose from rushing waters.
Painted my nails deep red
with the help of blood let.
Hair combed and braided
gentle by the wind’s fingers.
Fed a breakfast of chartreuse leaves
poison berries, smashed acorns.
Dressed in vines, I find the path lit,
the trees watch from above,
their leaves curtain apart, slips in sun,
showing me the way out.
