Hatched

Like an egg
an egg who chose to subject
themselves.
For it’s shell
for the joy of
others.

Painted coats
some attention
to detail
others a thoughtless dunk
in dye.

An egg
passed from hand
to hand.

Letting it’s shell become
tainted
by who may possess it
in their image
of beauty.

Layers of paint
weaken the
innocent, flawless
God intended shell
underneath chemically ridden
dyes.

Even the thickest shells
go brown
and crack
from all the designs
rough handling
constant change
under the brushes
of others.

But the egg,
chosen purpose
by God
contains nutrition
and growth.

The egg once
cracked possess
the necessities
for life
to create new
beginnings.

Admired for it’s
yolk and soul.
Not used for it’s
raw, vulnerable
outer-self.

Though some
eggs
have found themselves
morphed
in the hands of others.

All eggs
once cracked
can serve their
purpose.
