Manuscript Evaluations and Story Editing with Elizabeth Ferris
Elizabeth Ferris is a freelance editor offering manuscript evaluations, editing for short stories and essays, first-50-pages edits, one-on-one editing help, workshops, and other editing services. As an editor, Elizabeth recognizes there’s more than one way to tell a story, and her approach balances an appreciation for tried-and-true storytelling techniques with an enthusiasm for books and stories that break the mold. She is passionate about memoir, socially engaged nonfiction, and adult and YA fiction with strong characters. Occasionally she works outside those genres, when the fit is right.
Elizabeth holds a BA in English from the College of William and Mary and has edited for writers of all backgrounds and publication goals. When not editing or teaching, she is a regular contributor to Richmond magazine. Her writing has also appeared in Misadventures Magazine, RVA News, and right here on Life in Ten Minutes.
