Welcome! Life in 10 Minutes Classes invite you to join in a regular practice of creative nonfiction designed for both beginning and experienced writers writers alike. We write stories from our lives in short bursts that invite reflection, exploration and delving deeper without censorship or editing.

Who? Life in 10 Minutes classes are for adult writers of every level of experience, 18+. If you are looking for creative writing classes for young people, ages 9-17, please visit

Registration: Click on the title of each workshop to read a full description of the class and teacher. To reserve your space at the table, please fill out the registration form at the bottom of the page. A full or partial payment must be made to reserve your space. Please email if you need to make special payment arrangements.

Class Balance: If you have registered with a deposit and need to pay the balance of a class, please scroll down to the bottom of the registration form for "pay balance" options.

Where are we? All creative nonfiction classes will take place in our new location, 2707 West Cary Street. We are at the corner of Cary and Mulberry, just one block east of the Boulevard.

What to bring? Coffee and tea are provided. Please bring your own journal, pen and/or pencil.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made more than two weeks prior to the start date of class will receive a refund minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the start date of class will receive a half credit towards a future class.

Missed Classes: If you need to miss a class for any reason, you are invited to email that week's writing to your teacher for feedback and comment. Unfortunately, missed classes cannot be made up by attending another class.

Inclement Weather Policy: By and large we will follow the mandate of Richmond City School closings. An email update will confirm this on the mornings when school is cancelled. Due to scheduling constraints, a maximum of one make-up class will be scheduled the week following the end of the session or as the schedule allows.
